Le Grande Cascade, Mortain

As I sit in my office, on a grey English day, I pause to think of the lovely holidays our family have already had at Les Violettes.

We drove down for TWO HOURS during December, it simply is not long enough to see friends, go to our favourite local attractions and beauty spots. We have been coming to Ger for over a year now and we love it more each time. There is one place we always come to when we are down, it is only ten or fifteen minutes from the house. We bring family and friends whenever they join us. As a result of this, we have photos of the cascades as we follow the waterfall throughout the seasons.

When we are there it does not matter about the weather. It does not matter about the time. It does not matter how fast the water flows. It does not matter who else is there. It is only the peace, the nature and the feelings being here brings. We all love it.

It is probably my second favourite place on this earth- beaten only by being in the Bernese Oberland. Another place that my soul truly finds peace.

Anyone who visits Les Violettes must come here. Even those who cannot walk far can enjoy it from the road edge.
